Mahler’s epic ode to Pan and the ushering in of summer is perfect for May in Omaha, opening with one of the most glorious, jaw-dropping brass fanfares in the symphonic repertoire. With features for mezzo-soprano, women and children’s choruses, trombone and a massive ensemble, you’ll see why Mahler was called back out to the podium twelve times at the premiere, and why the final movement has been described as “the most sublime in all symphonic literature.” A. Barron Breland, chorusmaster.

After a long hiatus, RCMC is excited to return to the Joslyn Museum’s Witherspoon Concert Hall stage in a performance that intentionally celebrates the strong and enduring partnership of these two amazing Omaha arts organizations. This concert will be a feast for both your ears and eyes as songs from the musical theater and pop genres that celebrate art and color and tell stories through visualization and landscapes are paired with visual works of art focused on self-expression, identity, and each person’s ability to create their own world through artistic expression. In addition to artwork from Joslyn’s permanent collection, A Pop of Color will also incorporate self-portraits from local LGBTQ+ youth. This is a truly unique and special event that you will not want to miss!
An all-day event for select high school students at the participating schools of the Centennial Conference (including schools such as Boystown, Lincoln Christian, Lincoln Lutheran, Fremont Bergan, GICC and others) culminating in a concert of incredible repertoire.
